United World College of the Adriatic
The United World College of the Adriatic (www.uwcad.it) offers students, coming to Trieste from all over the world, the opportunity to train in an environment full of stimuli that combines, with the high level of study programs, the education in the values of tolerance and solidarity. This develops the spirit of initiative and adaptation. There are 19 United World Colleges based in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, chaired by Her Royal Highness Queen Noor al Hussein of Jordan. The honorary president was, until December 2013, the late Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela Peace Scholarship Jury
The Peace Scholarship Jury named after Nelson Mandela is composed of the president of the Vitale Onlus Roberto Vitale, Ariel Haddad, chief rabbi of the Jewish Community of Ljubljana (Slovenian), the Eastern Greek archimandrite Gregorios Miliaris, the protopresbyter of the Serbian church Rasko Radovic, by Monsignor Roberto Rosa, Nader Akkad, imam of the inter-religious dialogue of the Union of the Islamic Community in Italy and by the Buddhist nun Ani Malvina Savio.
